High tech and high fashion collided at a time when Apple last year announced the hiring of Paul Deneuve, former CEO and president of iconic fashion house Yves Saint Laurent. He became vice president of "special projects" in Apple's direct subordination to Tim Cook. Now, it became known that the company Deneuve was another senior leader of the fashion house.
Just a few weeks ago, served as president of the European branch of Yves Saint Laurent and head of retail sales Catherine Monier moved from Paris to the United States. The initiator of the transition in Cupertino was Deneuve, in which her team to work with. According to reports, Monier has extensive experience in the marketing and sale of luxury goods.
Currently Deneuve adopted by Apple to work on special projects, develops new strategies for retailers Apple, towards greater reliance on the Apple Store selling items of clothing and other fashion items.
The exact scale of the Monier as its objectives are unclear. But perhaps the timing of hiring a new employee is not accidental: the fall of the Californian giant plans to unveil its first "smart" watches, especially now that Apple need experts in the field of fashion.
There is every reason to believe that Monier Deneuve and may be involved in the project is wearable electronics. Given their experience in the world of fashion and accessories, and examples of Apple hiring external expertise for new projects, under these assumptions there is some reason.
Apple and Yves Saint Laurent has not officially confirmed this information.
