Last week, Microsoft released an update for the operating system Windows 8.1, which adds new features to the work of the touchpad, the ability to use the computer as Miracast-receiver and a reduction in the number of queries using federated access to SharePoint Online. Today was stopped sending updates, and links to the firmware files - removed from the official website of the company. This is explained by the fact that the update causes BSOD-user error ("blue screen of death").
Users who have already installed update, Microsoft strongly recommends that a system restore or delete the following four updates:
- 2982791 MS14-045 - security update for kernel-mode drivers on 12 August 2014;
- 2970228 - updated to support the graphic symbol of the ruble ;
- 2975719 - Update for Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2012 R2;
- 2975331 - Update for Windows RT, Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
You can remove the update as well as applications. In the "Programs and Features" need to go to "View installed updates" and uninstall the update.
