25% Android-devices operate at KitKat

Google has published a monthly report on the fragmentation of the operating system Android. According to the data, as of early September, 25% of all Android-devices run on Android 4.4 KitKat. Over the past month the number of devices on Android Jelly Bean has decreased from 54.2% to 53.8%. This is due to upgrading older devices to the newer version of the operating system. In the near future, is expected this trend will continue. While the share of devices on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is 9.6%, and the Android 2.3 Gingerbread reaches 11.4%. And 0.7% of users continue to use the device with the version of the operating system Android 2.2 Froyo.

Last significant leap in changing the ratio of devices on different versions of Android occurred at the beginning of this year, when large companies presented their flagships with a preinstalled operating system Android 4.4 KitKat. As expected, the fast release of Android L (5.0) slightly affect the overall picture of the fragmentation of the platform.
