Staring at the screen of the smartphone, people often provoke dangerous situations on the road. People are so attached to their gadgets that sometimes, being on the street, do not notice anything around. Sometimes this leads to road traffic accidents.
Administration of the city of Chongqing, the largest area of the four administrative units in China, shared the city sidewalks for people using phones on the go and watching the environment, and for walkers who prefer to focus on the road. On the road caused appropriately marked and put the signs "First in China sidewalk for mobile phone users."
In fact, the Chinese are not the first who thought about security gadzhetomanov. In June, a similar experiment conducted American television channel National Geographic as part of the TV show «Mind Over Masses». In the capital of the United States on a street pavement is also divided into two parts: for pedestrians with smartphones and for people who are not distracted by mobile gadgets.
However, the experiment of Americans ended unsuccessfully. As told National Geographic, almost nobody paid attention to the signs. Only a few pedestrians stopped to photograph the sidewalk. Those who still noticed markings, some time later still communicated via smartphone on "forbidden" part of the road.
In May of this year, Taiwan's legislators have proposed a punishment for people who are at the crossroads of paying more attention to their cell phones than the situation around. The initiators of the law say that the country has 14 million mobile users, and overreliance on smartphones has led to an increase in accidents involving pedestrians.
