The South Korean company LG has announced that LG Display division has launched mass production of the world's first-round P-OLED-display. Technology will be used in "smart" watch G Watch R, demonstrated at the end of August. Thanks to the circular shape of the ideal display diameter of 1.3 inches provides 57% more space than the square analogs. Resolution is 320x320 pixels, and the screen will give brightness to 300 nits and 100% color gamut coverage. Another feature of the display is the thickness - less than 6 mm, which is ideal for portable accessories.
Watches LG G Watch R will in key markets at the end of the fourth quarter of 2014. The cost of the device is not yet known.
