Nokia hopes to oust Google Maps in the market mapping services

For all the hype on new announcements and presentations at IFA 2014 held these days in Berlin, quite simply overlook less intriguing, but still important news from the world of electronic gadgets and other "smart" technology. Thus, recently had an interesting news story that would be extremely curious to many users of Android-devices: Nokia spokesman Sean Fernbak gave an interview to The Wall Street Journal, in which he told that the Nokia Maps service not long stay exclusive to Samsung devices and will soon become available to all owners of Android- and iOS-devices.
Nokia надеется потеснить Google Maps на рынке картографических сервисов

I am convinced that people are always looking for an alternative. Service Google Maps, of course, is a good solution for many: cards work very well. But they look and function in the same scheme too long.
According to Sean Fernbak appears their navigation solution on the "shelves" Google Play and the App Store later this year. Many of our readers will now rubbing their hands in anticipation. Still, after the creation of one of the finest mobile navigation services from Nokia at the time laid out billions of dollars for the purchase of NAVTEQ, but as a result of this development has been available for a long time exclusively to owners of Windows Phone-devices. However, this is not the most important thing: Nokia Maps on iOS and Android will work in offline mode, and it gives real cause for concern Google and Apple for their mapping services that require mandatory connection to the Internet. Nokia Maps will download maps of cities, countries and regions, and then to search for addresses using manual input or voice commands and guided only by satellites hovering in orbit. Just at the service have the opportunity to receive and address circuit parks, schedules and routes of public transport, although it is unknown whether to make support for these features on Android and iOS.
According to Sean Fernbaka, Nokia does not seek profit or special benefits from its navigation services, as well as does not build campaigns, sharpened it. Developers seeking to improve the accuracy of the information display thanks to users who they think will certainly want to download their new applications. Let's hope that Google and Apple will finally pay attention to the issue of autonomy to use their mapping services, although expect fast reaction giants of IT-industry, you probably should not. Therefore, waiting for the New Year holidays and the release of Nokia Maps on Android and iOS.
