According to research firm Net Applications, in August 2014 the market share of operating systems, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 has started to grow. It should be noted that the previous month was seen decline in the number of devices on Windows 8.1. Settlements company Net Applications statistics are based on visits to websites unique users. By the end of August, for the past month the share of Windows 8 has increased from 5.92% to 6.28%, and Windows 8.1 - with 6.56% to 7.09%. In this case, the total share of these operating systems on the world market rose by 0.89% and now amounts to 13.37%.
Leading position still belongs to Windows 7 operating system is running on 51.21% of computers around the world. In July, the market share of Windows 7 was 51.22%. Windows XP, which is no longer supported by Microsoft, now set at 23.89% computers, 0.93% less than in July. And another 3.02% of PC users continue to use the operating system Windows Vista.
