Smartphones with gesture control will appear in early 2015

Late last year, Elliptic Labs has introduced technology to manage Android-powered device with gestures. Today, the company announced the feature Multi Layer Interaction, allowing to display on the mobile device display different information depending on the position and the distance to the user.

Recall that Elliptic Labs uses ultrasonic method for gesture recognition, which is much more accurate and practical use of the front camera. With this method, the user's movements are defined at a distance of 50 cm in a 180-degree area around the device.

"A new feature Multi Layer Interaction provides a new experience intuitive user interactions with the device. Without touching the device itself on the screen as you get closer to hand it will appear a variety of information, the ability to change lenses. This will improve the experience of using and make easier the interaction with mobile devices" - said General Director of Elliptic Labs Laila Danielsen.
When approaching your hands to your phone is activated display for incoming notifications, followed by the opening of the latest when the distance between the device and the user. Also, this technology can be used to control playback of video and audio.
Elliptic Labs has sent out a set of tools to producers who are interested in the integration of this technology into their devices. Name partner companies have not been disclosed, but the first smartphone with support for gesture control will appear in the first half of next year.
