As the new report of research firm Net Applications, 52% of the market desktop platforms still belongs to Windows 7, released back in 2009. It is interesting that despite all the assumptions of analysts, the share of Windows 7 is not decreased after Windows 8.1, but only strengthened its position in the segment.
These research organizations, as demonstrated in the diagram, state that on the second place in popularity is Windows XP with 23.87%, and in third place - Windows 8.1 with a 6.67% market share. The remaining positions in the market of desktop operating systems belong to Windows 8 (5,59%), Mac OS X 10.9 (4,05%), Windows Vista (3,07%), Linux (1,64%) and others (2.41% ).
