Sad event happened about six months ago. Loss of iPhone Hammett very upset because he did not have backups. According to guitarist after he fell into a very unfunny depression for a few days. Later musician could remember only 8 of previously recorded guitar parts, but even now he did not lose hope, sooner or later find their gadget.
"In the end, I decided:" That means not destiny, we must move on" - philosophizes guitarist, simultaneously advising colleagues to make a backup copy of everything that is stored in their iPhone.
Loss of iPhone with guitars impact on the release of the new album. To date, the record is ready only by 25-30%, said Hammett. We already have a team of 12 new songs, but they are still far from release. But musicians are totally immersed in the work. Last album, «Death Magnetic», released in 2008.
During this interview Hammett also told about his attitude to criticism on the Internet."Everyone has an opinion, and they have a right to do so. I know that if I pay attention to the criticism, it would not be able to move on. Safer for me to just not think about it. I do what I was going to do, and go to their goal. I'm doing everything I can do. If people like it, it's great. If not - it's their choice".
Be that as it may, the new Metallica album is already beginning to take shape. According to Hammett, the record will be similar to the released 7 years ago «Death Magnetic», and impressions of it can make the single on last year's «Lords of Summer».
