Apple will oblige developers for iOS move to 64 bits

On June 1, 2015 all updates for applications sent for approval to the App Store, should be optimized for iOS 8 and 64-bit architecture. This is stated in the newsletter Apple, which on Wednesday authorized the company sent to developers registered on the iPhone Developer Standard and Enterprise.

Programmers who are planning to deploy its development in App Store, will have to optimize the software to run on the operating system iOS 8, said the producer. The same applies to both new applications and updates to current programs. Software should be created by means of the latest version of Xcode and iOS 6 8 SDK.
"As we reported in October, from 1 February 2015, new applications sent for approval to the App Store, to include support for 64-bit computing and built using 8 iOS SDK. Beginning June 1, 2015, an update for the application must also meet these requirements. To enable 64-bit support to your project, we recommend that you use the default settings Xcode, which provide for the creation of a single binaries with support for 32 and 64 bit" - said in a dispatch Apple.
The new requirement will not appeal to all developers, but it will be beneficial for the users, in any case to those who use the relatively new devices. 64-bit architecture can significantly improve performance, especially in terms of graphics. This is useful not only in games but also resource-intensive applications, such as image and video editor.
Thanks to Apple 64-bit platform has become the mainstream after the iPhone 5s in the past year. Undertaken by the company from Cupertino steps to sow panic among manufacturers ARM-processors - they were not ready to take action to promote rival 64-bit chips.

The situation changed only after a year, to date, all the big companies have developed or planned for the near future mass production of the new processors. Operating System Android 5.0 Lollipop also began to support 64-bit computing.
In the near future 32-bit architecture on the iPhone and iPad will still be supported, but in a more distant future, it is likely that Apple will completely abandon 32-bit, considering how active she puts her technique to a new architecture.
