According to the Korean edition of The Korea Times, Samsung has received a record number of pre-orders for the new flagship smartphone Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. If the information is correct, we are talking about 20 million copies, which are reserved for mobile operators.
"Samsung has received nearly 20 million pre-orders for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge of operators around the world. Of these, 15 million were in Galaxy S6 and 5 million - for S6 edge. This is a record" - said the South Korean newspaper, referring to the top manager of one of the largest European operators. Head of Samsung Mobile Shin Jong Ken said earlier that the interest in new devices was much higher than for Galaxy S5.
Last week, Galaxy S6 recognized as the best exhibit at the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. Interestingly, the Koreans have presented two versions of this gadget, and the prize won one in which the screen is curved at the edges.
The award, which was given to Galaxy S6 Edge, called Best New Handset, Tablet or Device («Best phone, tablet or device"). In other words, the Korean gadget considered best exhibit not only in the smartphone segment, but generally gadgets. I must say that the prize can only be assigned to a device, which debuted at MWC. It could not get other devices entering the market earlier.
Sales Galaxy S6 will start only on April 10, and up to this point to verify certain predictions almost impossible. Korean analysts are confident in the success of the new flagship Samsung. They believe that the more advanced specifications S6 will play a key role in its confrontation with its main competitor - iPhone 6.
