Oxford Dictionary of Quotations is filled with new statements of celebrities, including Apple founder Steve Jobs. In total, the latest edition of the dictionary includes 700 new phrases. This was reported by The Times.
The new version of the Oxford Dictionary included the statement of Steve Jobs: "It is better to be a pirate than to serve in the Navy." This comment Jobs described his approach to business at the dawn of Apple. In contrast to the complex structure of the centralized Microsoft Jobs decided to establish a small group of creative search for new ideas. Now it would be called a startup.
Jobs said the phrase was in 1982, shortly before the release of the computer Macintosh, glorified company.
According to the newspaper, in the new edition of the Oxford Dictionary of aphorism also included Lady Gaga. Compilers chosen for its dictionary the phrase: "I'm just trying to change the world in a grain of sand at a time." Among the other contenders - the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, the poet Robert Burns, author Harper Lee and human rights activist Malala Yousafzai.
First Oxford collection of quotations was published in 1941. The latest version of the dictionary contains 200,000 utterances 3,700 people.
