Update for Windows 9 will be established "one-click"

In anticipation of the release of Windows 9 previews , scheduled for the end of September, journalist Marie Jo Foley shared relevant information at the moment from sources inside Microsoft. In particular, they address the question of the output frequency and method of installing the updates for the new platform.

Those who want to install on your computer version of the Technical Preview Windows 9 will have to agree to mandatory monthly updates of the system. Preview version goes for corporate users and computers will be limited to the x86 architecture. The emergence of ARM-version is scheduled for January-February next year. Presumably, it can be installed on smartphones (instead of Windows Phone) and Tablet, here there will be no desktop, and emphasis is placed on the home screen.
It is also reported that the upgrade to Windows 9 will be to establish a "one-click". Works pretty simple: a new feature in the Update Center makes it easy to update your current version of "windsurfing" to the last. This is a completely new feature, and not just improving the Update Center Windows, which eliminates the need to reinstall the operating system when moving to a new version.
Release of the final version of Windows 9 is still expected in the spring. After its introduction of Windows can be translated into the same scenario, which is used in the case of services and Azure Office 365. This means constant release of small functional system updates instead of the release of new versions at intervals of a year or two. For this reason it is expected to release new versions of the operating system such as Windows 10, 11, etc.

For Microsoft, which is selling operating systems bring significant profits for decades, it is a fundamental departure from the usual scheme. However, the steps in this direction have already been made earlier in the year: Windows Phone smartphone manufacturers to become free, like Windows on devices with screens up to 9 inches.
Further, there are several options: either Windows will be available on a subscription basis, or the operating system and will be sold once and for all, all updates will be free, while Microsoft will try to compensate for the revenue associated with other system services.Source suggests that Windows 9 can be made available to holders of license for Windows 7 and 8 for free.
