Segway launches Ninebot E8 safe kids scooter

Segway's portfolio includes dozens of different devices, from gyro scooters and monowheels to small karts. Recently, the company introduced a new electric scooter made from aircraft aluminum. The novelty provides a high level of security, because it is designed specifically for children.

Ninebot E8 is intended only for children, since the declared maximum load is 50 kilograms. The device is made of aviation aluminum, so it weighs only 8 kg. The foot zone is located at a sufficient height from the floor (10 centimeters), which makes the scooter stable and easy to use. The steering wheel, for the sake of ergonomics, is slightly inclined forward, and the handles are covered with soft materials that provide a reliable grip.

Several versions will go on sale, including a fully electric one with a 130-watt motor. Ninebot E8 is equipped with a battery with protection against overcharging, overheating and short circuit. From a single charge, the scooter can travel up to 10 kilometers with a maximum speed of 14 km / h. There is also a special reduced power mode, in which the speed is 3 km / h.

Ninebot E8 received a folding design, which simplifies its transportation. Tires are made of highly elastic rubber that does not contain air to completely eliminate punctures. A tread is applied to the wheels, designed to improve traction. In place of the headlights are stickers that reflect light, making the scooter visible at night. The electric scooter is also equipped with three brake systems - a brake for restoring EBS energy, a rear wing brake and a handbrake. There is no exact price information yet.
